The Vermont state VFW commander asked for North Country Union High Schools color guard to post the colors at a state wide VFW meeting in Montpelier, Vermont.
North Country Union High School 3 person Color Guard supported Newport City Elementary School's Veteran's Day learning activities by presenting the colors and discussing the purpose of Veteran's Day.
Cadets were challenged with the task of creating a one rope bridge. This exercise involved learning many knots including the swiss seat, a rope harness, and using specific knots for the bridge itself.
JROTC cadets selected from the battalion attended a ceremony dedicated to the first and only officer killed in the line of duty for the Newport Police Dept. at the Newport municipal building.
JROTC cadets selected from the battalion attended a field trip to a high ropes course located in Jeffersonville, Vermont. During this course, cadets challenged themselves to push their own boundaries and enhanced teamwork while putting themselves through a series of challenging obstacles. In pictures below, cadets were challenged to grab a rope roughly fifteen feet from them to transport all members of to group to the other side of the "lava".
